Making Imposter Syndrome Your Superpower: How Sina’s Womb Circle Facilitator Certification Helped Her Succeed

Usha Anandi. 22 | MAY| 2024

The first ladies to join my women’s circle were the best…

And, I was also deeply and excruciatingly terrified of them.

Would I disappoint them?

Would they call me a fraud?

Would they just stop showing up when they figure out I’m exactly like them? That I’m still finding my way, just like they are?

They were so loving and supportive, but I couldn’t shut out those thoughts. It was like I was hosting a women’s circle for the pope.

Even with all my experience and all the effort I put into healing myself, my imposter syndrome ate me up. I limited myself to hosting teeny-tiny women’s circles in my plant-filled living room to save myself from that gnawing fear of rejection.

I didn’t dare think about how many lives I could impact if I just got over my own fears of failure and embraced my potential to lead women in their healing. I overthought, overstressed, and burned myself out.

…Until something clicked.

After years of participating in womb circles, I finally got it…

It’s not about what I say or do.

My controversial take? Your words don’t make the biggest difference. It’s about creating an environment that’s attuned to the women around you, and meeting them where they’re at.

After that, I stopped fearing the women that would show up to my circles.

I became comfortable, even excited to lead circles of hundreds of womben.

The process wasn’t smooth sailing, and it took me a long time to acknowledge my own power, but I did it. I ended my campaign of self-sabotage.

And now I’m ready to share how this changed my life with you.

If you can relate to this feeling of unease when you step into a room of women, I want you to meet Sina. Sina’s story shows how our Womb Circle Facilitator Certification can help you blossom into your power, even if you’re already an amazing facilitator.

Even with your unique magic, it’s easy to feel like you’re missing the skills to leave your mark.

I promise, everything you need is already there.

You just need an extra push, just like Sina did.

What brought you to the Womb Circle Facilitator Certification?

“Another aspect I admire about Usha is her willingness to address uncomfortable topics. For example, she doesn’t shy away from pointing out privilege, even though it can be uncomfortable.

I’ve often wondered if I can bring up uncomfortable topics like cultural misalignments. Usha’s approach, however, has shown me that it’s possible to do so with love and authenticity.

Her courage in naming uncomfortable truths inspires me deeply. This was one of the main reasons I wanted to learn from Usha. I wanted to experience how to facilitate even deeper and more inclusive sessions.”

What was your prior experience facilitating women’s circles?

“I’m already facilitating spaces, mostly similar to what Usha does with guidance and all. I love the principles we’ve learned, and some I’m already using. I host online spaces for women, and the topics are free-flowing, arising from my community. It’s always amazing since I’m part of the community and bring in topics regarding the menstrual cycle, free bleeding, boundaries, and breaking free from shame.

One thing I hadn’t done before but will incorporate for sure is the principle of pause. I fell in love with it during the training.”

What was your biggest takeaway from this certification?

What stood out to me was the balance between structure and empowerment. While there was a clear framework to follow, I felt empowered to share my essence and gifts in how I facilitated. This alignment allowed the right people to be drawn to me, creating a beautiful connection.

I received so much reassurance that my approach was valued which was incredibly affirming.

There’s a sense of accountability we take on with this training due to the guidelines and requirements for certification. It’s not just about attending classes; it’s about actively participating and completing homework assignments. I appreciated how everyone was involved and engaged, creating a supportive learning environment.

How was the group learning environment? Did you find online learning effective?

“Connecting with others in the training was so enriching, especially with familiar names reappearing in the chat. The flexibility to re-watch classes, if missed, was helpful, and having access to the Wise Womben Circle membership area provided additional resources and insights.

Watching other facilitators in action allowed me to pinpoint differences in styles and approaches. It was a valuable learning experience. It helped me learn what resonated with me and what didn’t. It was such a great opportunity to explore different facets of facilitation and deepen my curiosity and understanding of this beautiful craft.”

What would you say to other women considering taking on this certification?

“For someone who already facilitates, I would suggest clearing your mind and being open to absorbing everything. From that open space, sit with it and discern what aligns with you and how you want to share it.

For someone who has never facilitated before, it’s beautiful to see how spaces can be facilitated from the beginning. The structure provides a framework, but it’s your personality and uniqueness that add a special touch to it.”

If you’ve already started your journey helping the womben around you heal, I bow to you.

But I know that gnawing feeling so well…

Like you’re never 100% sure. Like there’s always something more that you could be doing.

I’m not promising that I’ll ‘fix’ this.

Because there’s nothing to fix.

But I am promising to guide you to unlocking YOUR unique brand of magic.

We weren’t made to work ourselves to the bone.

Let me introduce you to how you can empower yourself and other womben everywhere in my 14-Week Womb Circle Facilitator Training.
