How to Speak the Language of Your Body

Usha Anandi. 11 | MAY | 2021

When I first entered into spiritual spaces, it seemed like every ten seconds someone would say “listen to your heart” or “follow your body”…

To be honest, it pissed me off.

What was this fluffy spiritual bullshit?!

At the time, I didn’t live in my body.

My head was my home, and I was okay with that.

Parts of my body felt distant, far away, and sometimes – like they weren’t even my own.

So how then, was I supposed to listen to my heart, if I couldn’t even detect it’s beat inside of my chest?

I had spent so much of my life focusing on the outside world, that I had no idea what was going on inside.

I had no bandwidth to process my emotions or internal sensations, and I felt frustrated, disillusioned, and quite frankly – annoyed with the way spiritual work was talked about around me.

At Womben Wellness, we try really hard to make our work accessible. And that means we cut the bullshit (I’m feeling a lot of fire, so I’m going to go with it), and break it down in a practical, tangible, REAL way.

So rather than say “listen to your heart” in a fluffy, good vibes, end-of-conversation kind of way – let’s talk about how that ACTUALLY looks physiologically, and how to get ourselves to a place where we can fathom receiving messages from any part of our body, including our hearts.

Inside our Wise Womben Circle Virtual Membership, we’re doing exactly that.

Through the framework of psychophysiology and biopsychosocial causation, we’ll explore how to understand the ecosystem of your body, decode the messages it’s sharing with you, and use them as a way to guide your life from a place of deep, body-based alignment.

“Yes, your mind creates your world. But first the world creates your mind”. ~ Gabor Maté

Inside Wise Womben Circle, we’ll explore how to heal trauma, limiting beliefs, and challenging patterns using the interwoven connection between BODY and MIND.

And we need both, because unfortunately, we can’t THINK our way out of trauma (even though that would be nice!). What the mind forgets, the body remembers. If we’re going to rework our inner programming and heal, we have to access our physiological ability to shift, transform, and change.

If you’re curious where to get started (or perhaps you’re still confused as to what the heck I’m even talking about), I explain more about the power of body-based healing in my video below.

I went to talk therapy for years.

On some level, it was useful to share my story and understand where my patterns were coming from…

But the mental understanding I gained in talk therapy never helped to ACTUALLY change my experience.

I found myself falling into the same patterns… coping in the same ways.

When conflict would arise… I would either freeze and numb out, or avoid it and run.

When I had to set a boundary, I would stop engaging and just ghost.

When the time came to protect myself, I moved towards danger instead of away from it.

But finding these body-based healing tools changed that.

And I want you to have access to them, too. And our Wise Womben Circle is the place where this is possible for you.

Through ceremony, embodiment, and lecture, I will share with you tangible ways to strengthen the connection between your body and mind.

So you can stop trying to think your way to healing, and just heal.

Doing Business; The Feminine Way

When I first started my business, everyone had a suggestion for me. Similar to the experience many pregnant mothers have when they first announce they’re pregnant – it seems like everyone is an expert. Regardless of whether they have actually done it before...

3 Books for Honoring Menopause

Depending on our age, menopause might not be on our minds. I mean, most of us don’t know our plans for this upcoming year. Let alone the next ten, twenty, or thirty! But what if I told you that the KEY to sustained vitality and an easy transition in menopause wasn’t something you’ll discover down the road…

7 Books to Reclaim Your Femininity

I am a total book NERD. I get so many messages every week asking for my favorite book recommendations... It took me a while, but here are my top 7.
